I am trying to move toward happy thoughts. There has been too much gloom in my neck of the woods.
Today, I will print of my "to do" list for our Cape May trip. We are leaving August 1st, so there is a lot to do. I don't mind though. I love getting ready for this trip.
Husband is going to try and get tickets for the Who. There is a special pre-sale that he can access through AMEX. They are doing a mini tour this fall. I would like to gift him tickets for his birthday. The show is three days before his birthday. He is muttering about the ticket price (Cheap seats are $100.00). But, I am paying for it and it's a gift, so if you are reading this dear, quit your bitching!
I didn't mention my casino trip, did I? Well, Husband and I lost $20.00, which is all we ever play. We are not into gambling. But my mom won $130.00 playing nickel slots. I guess I don't have her gambling gene!
On the way home, we passed an Alpaca farm. It was raining, so we couldn't get out of the car to pet them. But, I did get these pics from my cell phone. The first one moved just as I snapped the pic!
They are so cute!!!!
Finally, a quick shout to Rented Life who just had her tonsils out. Get better soon so you can eat some pasta salad! The rest of you should drop by and send her some get well wishes 'cause she's not allow to eat ice cream! How badly does that suck!!!!

About Me
- Seeking Solace
- I am a college professor who is fumbling through the chaos of academia, rheumatoid arthritis, working on my PhD and just being a 40 something woman. I used to be a lawyer, which made me a snarky little person. I have a wonderful Husband and a German Shepherd named Junior. They help keep me sane.

dude, I want an alpaca.
Me too. So does my buddy, GML.
I had no idea the Who was still touring. My stepdad had a vhs tape of their "final concert" on HBO like 20 years ago.
I remember that concert on HBO! My husband saw them during that "final tour" in 1982-83.
They have been touring, even since the death of John Entwhistle in 2002. They released a new CD "Endless Wire" last year that is pretty good. Plus, they were on the VH1 Rock Honors last week. Townsend and Daultry can still rock!
I love alpaca -- really, if I could have one in our apartment, the cats would have hooved company.
We always do the state fair during the llama/alpaca time -- sadly, Hubby will be at mega conference and I'll be just finishing a really icky chemo course, so the state fair food won't exactly be high on my list... so, next year... sigh.
Your list made me make our vacation list -- it can't be bad if it starts with "bug stuff, sunscreeen, camera"... I can't wait to get out of town!
