Reason #546

Of why I am not longer Catholic.

Catholic Church gives D.C. ultimatum.

So, the Church wants to punish the poor, the homeless and others because they can't love thy neighbor?

OK. I get that the Church does not want to perform same sex weddings. That's their prerogative. But, to discriminate individuals in their employ because of their marriage status is wrong. It's the same kind of crapola that my parents went through with interracial marriage.

And to add insult to injury, the Church will harm numerous individuals who depend on services all based oh a philosophical difference. So these citizens are nothing more than "collateral damage"?

So much for Christan love.

Yes, after decades of enabling so many priests in their sexual victimization of a multitude of children, American Catholic Bishops are now squandering a great deal of money trying to persuade lawmakers that theirs should be the last word on the sexual mores of others.

The breathtaking arrogance of that is what drove me away from the Church. And it seems that they still don't get it.

Yeah, I'm just mystified. What are those people thinking? Is Catholicism really just about hating gays and women? Really? If they keep this up, the church is going to be four middle-aged guys in a room.

I was disgusted by this threat from a church claiming Christian virtues. Blah. Shame on them.
