More Tales From the Road

Posted by Seeking Solace |

Husband and I are enjoying Second City in our Target State Tour. I think this is where we will ultimately end up. We love that there are lots of trees and greenery. There is a movement to connect all of the parks in Second City so that one can hike and bike. Very cool.

Second City is less congested than First City. I think it's because Second City is designed better. There is an inner and an outer loop that separates the downtown area from the rest of Second City. Also, the neighborhoods in Second City limits look very suburban. There are many trees and sidewalks too.

Husband had a meeting with a headhunter. She was impressed with Husband's background. She didn't have anything immediate for him, but she had some leads that look very promising.

I found another possible teaching position at a college in Second City. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Also, I am pretty confident about the job that I interviewed for in First City. The company has an office in Second City and they have no problem with my working in Second City.

Oh, and did I mention that my hotel has a garden jacuzzi tub? Very nice. I need to get one of those!!!

There was a happy hour at the hotel with free wings, ribs, potato skins, nachos, beer and pop. Husband and I stopped in for a little snack before dinner. After we returned from the restaurant, there was a bin with a few cans of beer and pop. Well, Husband couldn't resist grabbing a couple of beers. After all, according to Husband "It's a sin to waste food, but an even bigger sin to waste beer!"

Excellent! I was wondering about your potential job opportunity, and it sounds like you could still work there even in second city.

I hope it all works out for you all.

How about the housing situation?

Ragey: We have looked at a couple of really nice apartments. The hard part will be trying to find an apartment that has reliable bus transportation for me.

That's why your husband is great! :)

I'd so never leave a jacuzzi tub if I had one. I'd be a big ol'prune
