This has been a tough week. Because of the bitter cold in Lake Effect Snow Central, my RA flared up. It was -6 at this time yesterday. That's actual temperature, folks, not wind chill.
On top of that, I received an email about one of the jobs that I applied for in Target State. The HMFIC informed me that due to budget constraints, they would not be staffing the position. It was not the law school teaching position, but it was a job that I was excited about.
Needless to say, I was feeling pretty crappy.
When times like this arise, I get teary when I think of all the support I have. Husband is, without question, my biggest supporter. He is always there for me, doing whatever he can, brushing brushing my hair when I can't hold a brush to listening to me when I felt low. He is my best friend.
Bloggy friends and Facebook friends (some are one in the same) are always there will words of support and encouragement. You guys are just awesome. You really made my day yesterday with your comments when I found out about the job.
Rented Life stopped over just to visit for a while. She didn't have to do that since I am sure she was quite busy with other things. It was so nice to sit and chat awhile. Thanks RL, you are a good friend.
GML is on her way over with coffee from a very popular coffee place in LES. Like Rented Life, I know she has many things to do too. But the fact that she is willing to give up her morning to hang out with me is true friendship.
And of course, there is the Boy. He can't talk, but he knows exactly how to express how much concern he has for his Mom. The other day, my hands were pretty swollen. The Boy kept licking my hands as if to say "doggie spit fixes everything."
I am one lucky girl to have some many wonderful people out there who care about me . Thanks everyone!

- Seeking Solace
- I am a college professor who is fumbling through the chaos of academia, rheumatoid arthritis, working on my PhD and just being a 40 something woman. I used to be a lawyer, which made me a snarky little person. I have a wonderful Husband and a German Shepherd named Junior. They help keep me sane.

Oh I TOTALLY believe doggie slobber fixes everything!
you are awesome. rented life is awesome. I'm so pleased you spent a morning being awesome together. :)
my word verification is bofskin. that totally sounds like a disease or else a medieval garment.
I disagree with Kai, but when you are allergic to dogs, you tend to think this way :)
I needed the visit as much as you. It was nice to talk to someone who was 1) over the age of 18 and 2)not sick with the flu and therefore capable of pay attention for more than 5 minutes at a time.
Husband again says "I really do want to get together!"
Sorry to hear about the flare up, but glad you are finding so much support :)
Blech! I can imagine the cold but certainly not coupled with an RA flare. Sounds hellish. Glad you are getting support on that front.
Terribly sorry about the job news. I fear that may be the case for so many folks this year. :( Sucks.
Sorry to hear about the job but I remain convinced a great job in target state will materialize. And I second Kai, doggy spit is magical.
I missed that update so am sorry to hear about the job. Hopefully it is just clearing the way for bigger and better things!
I'm sorry about the job stuff and the RA flare up SS.
When I was down with the stomach bug last week both dogs stuck by my side. They wouldn't even come downstairs when hubby got home.
Glad you're getting lots of human and canine support.
