~I had a pond in my backyard. With the rain, all the snow melted, causing my yard to flood. We got a little water in the basement, but nothing serious. We are supposed to get a fresh batch of snow tomorrow.
~Yesterday's trip to the RA doctor was good. We agreed to continue my medication regiment for another two months and decide in February to keep the methotrexate or add Embrol or Humera.
~I have this cough that I cannot shake. It's the remnants of a cold that I had three weeks ago. It's one of those coughs that keeps you up at night, so sleep has been a problem. My RA doc sent for a chest X-ray and it was clear. She reminded me that because my immune system is suppressed because of the meds, it may take longer for me to recover from colds.
~GML and I went for facials after my doctor's appointment. There is a beauty school that does treatments for the public. After all, the students have to practice, right? GML has been going there for a year now and swears by them. Sure, you don't the spa experience, but for $30.00, I am not going complain! The girl who did my facial did a fantastic job!
~GML and I hung out at her house for a while and played with her doggies and her new kitty. She was fostering Auggie, but she just loved him so much that she decided to adopt him. He is so funny. He doesn't know that he is a cat. He will sit on the chair in the living room and wait for one of the dogs to walk by. Then, he bats them on the back with his paw. At one point, he tried to jump on Frankie's back! Simply hilarious! Husband and I had dinner with GML and her hubby. Super fun.
~Today, I am tired. I didn't sleep well because of the coughing. I have an appointment with my primary doctor on Friday. Maybe she can give me something for the cough. Nothing has worked...not even gargling.
~We are going to stay home for New Year's Eve. Too much hassle in going out.
~Husband and I want to see Valkyrie. We could care less about Tom Cruise. Husband is a huge WWII buff and I have spend some time studying German history in undergrad and graduate school. It is supposed to be pretty good. No spoilers please!
~I am not sure I want to see Marley and Me. I read the book and cried my eyes out.
~We were planning to go to the gym tonight, but I am still beat. Maybe tomorrow.
Whew...that's a lot going on in my world.

- Seeking Solace
- I am a college professor who is fumbling through the chaos of academia, rheumatoid arthritis, working on my PhD and just being a 40 something woman. I used to be a lawyer, which made me a snarky little person. I have a wonderful Husband and a German Shepherd named Junior. They help keep me sane.

I get my hair cut at the Aveda Institute in NYC by students and it's SO cheap! Best $$ saver tip ever! They've always done a fabulous job and you can't beat the price!
I heard about flooding in some parts of the country from the melting snow. This weather has really been strange thus far.
I've gone to an Aveda training facility, in the past, and the service was great!
I hope you get over your cough soon. Take it easy.
I've never actually tried one of those places, you'll have to tell me which you went to. GML's kitty sounds adorable!
Sorry about the cough, this stupid weather isn't helping anyone stay healthy.
Happy New Year!
(I actually don't even know what a facial is... I've heard people talk about them, but I seriously don't know what they're for or what happens at them!)
I'm glad that you felt good about your trip to the RA doc.
Get well soon!
I hope the cough is done.
I too read Marley and Me and cried my eyes out. I really want to see it though...
