A good Christmas was had by all. Husband and I enjoyed a lovely Christmas with wonderful gifts. The Boy was spoiled with lots of treats and toys, including a gift certificate for Drs. Foster and Smith from his grandma and his kitty cousin. It was also a relaxing day as we decided to stay in Lake Effect Snow Central rather than travel to Redneckville to visit family. The weather has been absolutely crazy around here and Husband and I agreed that traveling was out of the question.
Yesterday, marked what has come to be know as the Annual Boxing Day Spectacular. This even was created by my home girl, Piget, who lives in Redneckville and I to celebrate the after Christmas sales. The Boxing Day Spectacular is a 14-15 hour event, consisting of shopping, eating, gossiping, giggling and more shopping, eating, gossiping and giggling. Somehow, the crowds and traffic do not matter because we are having way too much fun. We end the evening with dinner that usually lasts about two hours...one year we got kicked out of Olive Garden because they wanted to close! We wind up back in Redneckville around midnight...still giddy from our adventure.
This year, I ventured out on my own. It just wasn't the same vibe without Piglet. No giggling and gossiping. OK, I did enjoy an Aunt Annie's pretzel. After about two hours, my urge to kill was on the rise and I decided to head for home. I did find some good buys, but honestly, I don't know where these so-called sales are located. With the exception of a couple of spots, it seems like prices in Lake Effect Snow Central are not that much different that usual.
I am hoping that Piget and I can get together in the Spring for a rescheduled Spectacular. After all, it's not about the shopping...it's just the hanging out and having fun.
So, did any of you head out for Boxing Day-After Christmas shopping?

I'm glad you had a wonderful Christmas. Mine was quiet as I stayed in, didn't go see the friend I had planned visiting. By evening I was going stir crazy! So, today, I took the para transit bus to the library to work on my school plans and tomorrow I am going to visit the mall. LoL I will be squinting at the sales, deals to make sure I can't see them!
Yay for a happy Christmas! And I'm too scared to shop on black Friday or boxing day.... Too many people.
Glad both of you had a great holiday.
I won't shop Black Friday because of the crowds, but for some reason Boxing day doesn't bother me when I am with friends.
Great that you had a good Christmas.
We had a pretty low-key, but fun Christmas. No shopping for me on Boxing Day, I just spent the day with my guy, and then to a great party that night.
I'm glad you had a great Christmas.
I think we were all shopped out by Christmas. We pretty much stayed in on Boxing day, but had a small party at home that evening.
