A student at Big Ass University in Lake Effect Snow Central was busted for trying to find someone to write a paper for him by placing a post on Facebook.
Sigh.

About Me
- Seeking Solace
- I am a college professor who is fumbling through the chaos of academia, rheumatoid arthritis, working on my PhD and just being a 40 something woman. I used to be a lawyer, which made me a snarky little person. I have a wonderful Husband and a German Shepherd named Junior. They help keep me sane.

Wow. Seriously, how can students do that without expecting to get busted?
Hahahahaha.
Thanks, Seeking Solace. That story really brightened my morning.
Arbitrista: No problem. I please to aim!
Hee hee hee . . . if it wasn't so funny it would be really sad . . . or do I mean that the other way around? LOL
Thanks for the laugh - it's been a *long* semester! I mentioned this to my students today, with a mixed reaction. Most immediately noted what an idiot the kid was, but a few wanted to know if anyone agreed to write the paper! Time for another talk about the honor code! (And I did point out that they might not want to post anything on one of these sites that they weren't comfortable having profs or future bosses see).
I used the story as a teaching moment too. Some of my students had mixed reaction about the cheating aspect. But, they all agreed that this person was an idiot for posting on Facebook.
lol, that's a community of practice! agree, not very bright though
