Everybody Must See The Stones

Posted by Seeking Solace |

Husband and I took a break from work, taxes and other stuff we did want to do so that we could go see the Rolling Stones movie at the local IMAX. Since we are big Stones fans and heard great things about the film, we were excited to see the film.

Although we were a bit put off by the cost per ticket ($13.25 per ticket for a matinee!) and the jerk at the popcorn counter who kept bugging every customer to get some sort of point card for future visits, the feeling faded once we sat in our comfy, roomy seats.

Using IMAX to screen the film made you feel like you were in the front row with a magnifying glass. Of course, this only reinforced how age has not been kind to the Stones. Keith still looks like a corpse! But, the music was flawless. Mick could have been a one man show, prancing up and down the stage. Keith and Ronnie traded guitar riffs and banter. And Charlie just sat back, and kept time.

I don't want to give too much away, not that you can with a concert film. But, there are some great moments and memorable performances.

I don't think watching on the small screen would really capture the feeling I had while watching. And i guess that was the whole point. So, if you don't mind coughing up some cash, go see it.

Dandy review! I wonder where my closest IMAX is.... sounds like it would be most enjoyable. I saw a hilarious photo of Keith the other day compared to one of his YOUNG daughters. She was stunning and well, you know.... he's a walking cadaver so it was just startling.

Glad you're up and around and having non-work or health related adventures.
