I received letters today from two schools, one local community college and one law school in a southern state. They wanted to inform me that they are suspending their search for the faculty position I applied for until further notice.
I can't put into words what I am feeling right now.

About Me
- Seeking Solace
- I am a college professor who is fumbling through the chaos of academia, rheumatoid arthritis, working on my PhD and just being a 40 something woman. I used to be a lawyer, which made me a snarky little person. I have a wonderful Husband and a German Shepherd named Junior. They help keep me sane.

So sorry!
I'm so sorry.
Bummer --
I suppose suspended is a bit better than rejected, no?
I totally get why this would feel really badly. BUT, don't let it turn into something that means anything about you. This has nothing to do with you or your worth as a potential employee -- it's just likely a bad funding time. It has nothing to do with you.
Make sure you do something nice for yourself tonight.
I know that feeling, too. So sorry. It really sucks. Before I got my present position, I had about given up on a faculty position and applied for a planetarium director position. It actually paid better than the faculty jobs, and the job requirements fit me to a tee. After two interviews, and lots of positive feedback, I thought that I was a shoe in. Then, they decided not to fill the position. So, I know the feeling! Hang in there.
Those schools do not know what they are missing! YOU! Hang in there. The right position WILL come along.
echoing joy and shrinky... so sorry for you. things will get better.
Gah! I'm sorry, hon.
(that anon comment was me, Nimue, sorry)
Sending you as many, many virtual hugs and thoughts...
Aww, so very sorry...
So sorry. :(
