2011-Bring On The Wonder

Posted by Seeking Solace |

Like many of you, I don't do New Year's resolutions. I do like the idea of a theme, as I have seen throughout the blog world. Last year, my theme was goodness, meaning that I wanted to focus on the good that was part of my life. And, there was lots of good things that happened in 2010.

This year, my theme is Bring on the Wonder. It's based on the song Bring on the Wonder by Susan Enan. The chorus is what inspired me.

Bring on the wonder
Bring on the song
I pushed you down deep in my soul for too long

For the longest time, I have pushed pleasure aside. I didn't want to do or engage in anything unless there was solid reason to do it. I would justify it as "I'll have time to do it later" or "Not until I am settled with a job that I like or feel comfortable." Basically, I would delay doing anything for myself.

For the first time since I don't even know when, I actually feel like things have slowed down enough for me to sit back and enjoy the things around me. We are settled in Elsewhere and in our new home. I have a job that I like and feel comfortable enough to not be in that constant fear that I will do something that will piss someone off.

So, I want to use this time to explore new things. I want to try things that I thought about doing, but was either too chicken or would come up with some excuse. I want to open to what is out there.

Bring on the wonder...I'm ready

I love the theme. It is so rare that we have the opportunity to take a breather and pushing forward in those moments to try new things is inspirational.
