We liked Potential Real Estate Agent #1.
What I really liked about her was that she was not about the bells, whistles and flip charts in her presentation. She was very down to earth. She gave us some very useful tips on what she believed were priority jobs and what jobs we could let go.
You could also tell that she loved our house and how we decorated, especially the kitchen. But if you have ever seen my kitchen, you would agree that it totally kicks ass. PREA #1 also loved our color choices and said that there was no reason to repaint anything, even the rooms where there is color. She said that in many modern homes (Think new builds), it's all about color. She also reiterated my point about how people feel about color.
She provided us with some material on comparable homes in the area and showed us her marketing plan, which I think is very reasonable. She did not give us a price, because she wanted us to look at the comparables, digest them and get together with her if we decide to hire her. She also encouraged us to speak to other agents to find who will do the best job for our needs.
Husband and I like that approach. No high pressure pitch with a realistic view of our home, neighborhood and market. She gets high marks from us.

I sent an email to Real Estate Agent #2. This one was a recommendation from our friend J, who sold J the house next door. We shall see how this one works out.

About Me
- Seeking Solace
- I am a college professor who is fumbling through the chaos of academia, rheumatoid arthritis, working on my PhD and just being a 40 something woman. I used to be a lawyer, which made me a snarky little person. I have a wonderful Husband and a German Shepherd named Junior. They help keep me sane.

Certainly sounds like a good start. Good luck.
Ooh...any chance you'll post a couple of pictures of your kitchen?
Mad hatter. Of course. I will post some as soon as I can!
