A very happy, yet belated, Valentine's Day to all.
Not much to celebrate in my neck of the woods. Those of you who know me IRL or on Facebook know that something very serious and sad happened in my neck of the woods, not to far from my home. It's kinda hard to celebrate when you feel like the world has turned upside down.
Husband and I hung out at home for V-Day, He finished work on the guest room. It's looks great. He is moving on to fixing the ceiling the hallway. I worked on cleaning out some work related stuff. For some reason, I was holding on to student papers from last spring. That is so not like me. I organized and boxed up all of my teaching stuff, so it's ready to move. I also "staged" the guest room, so it will be ready for show in a couple of months. After all that work, we made homemade pizza and watched Napoleon Dynamite (Yes, GML, finally. There's a line or two that is so totally Husband.)
Husband has tomorrow off...Yay! Maybe we can do something other than working on the house or looking for new jobs.

About Me
- Seeking Solace
- I am a college professor who is fumbling through the chaos of academia, rheumatoid arthritis, working on my PhD and just being a 40 something woman. I used to be a lawyer, which made me a snarky little person. I have a wonderful Husband and a German Shepherd named Junior. They help keep me sane.

Sounds like some serious progress on the house! It's a great feeling to get so much accomplished. Hope today and tomorrow are good days!
I know what you mean. I've gotten choked up more than once.
Happy V-Day. I have tomorrow off too, and couldn't be happier about it
Yep. I've been thinking about you and wondering.... Doubtless the mood is subdued around you.
Nice to hear you're up and around and making such progress on the house. Glad you watch Napolean. Makes me want tater tots!
Now do you get my references to Napolean Dynamite boots?! :-)
And Tina the llama?
GML: YES! What about the special skills and the hunting wolverines...isn't that Husband?
((SS)) I don't know you in RL or on Facebook but I'm pretty certain I know what your talking about, it's terribly sad.
Yay for all the work on the house, you guys are making great progress.
