*Bonus points for the person who can name the movie reference!
Since the word from Very Prestigious Law School that my CV was forwarded to the faculty search committee, I haven't heard a thing from anyone.
Nothing from the other Universities that I applied to, except for the one that told me they were not filling the position I applied for because of budget issues. I don't think many universities will do any serious hiring until summer when they have an idea about budgets and enrollment. Although, a little birdie told me that my college is considering firing people. Not a good sign.
Nothing from the companies that hire contract attorneys to do legal research and document review, including the one that I called and left a voice mail, AFTER sending my resume and not getting a response. That is just way unprofessional.
Even Husband is feeling the ignore vibe. He has sent resumes and has heard anything, except for the "We received your documents and someone will get back to you." email message that is automatically generated when you submit your stuff.
In the words of Husband "This blows big donkey cock."
I am frustrated and getting a little depressed. I am tempted to apply for traditional attorney position, just in the hope that I would get a response. I would most likely tell them no. It's just that I am craving the attention.
Look, I get it that the economy sucks big time and there are A LOT of folks out there in the same situation or even worse where they NEED a job. So, please don't give me that song and dance...I get it, OK? It's just that I want to hear something, anything, even the "While we are impressed with your qualifications..." dribble.
Husband and I are going to Target State next week. Maybe someone will throw us a bone.
ETA @ 1:45 PM: I bitched too soon. I have an interview with the person I was bitching about, the one who has the legal scut-work firm, next Friday. WOOHOO!!!!

About Me
- Seeking Solace
- I am a college professor who is fumbling through the chaos of academia, rheumatoid arthritis, working on my PhD and just being a 40 something woman. I used to be a lawyer, which made me a snarky little person. I have a wonderful Husband and a German Shepherd named Junior. They help keep me sane.

Congrats on the interview. I'm sure they'll love you. Even if it is scut work. ;)
Sometimes I think you need to complain a little then what you want happens :) congrats!
Yay for the interview. Times are hard my friend...try not to take the silence personally.
Yah you! :) SO happy for you.
And I know the movie you quoted from but I know it from searching old Google. Doe that count? LoL
It's a movie called Willow. That's all I know.
Thanks everyone.
Joy: No it's not Willow. Much more dark.
FYI: The quote was from Fatal Attraction. :)
