Facebook is just too damn addicting. I don't want to neglect my blog. So here's what's going on in my world.
The latest RA flare has subsided without resorting to steroids. YAY!!! I think the heat wave (It's 25 degree right now) and the fact that the peak of the flare happened on the same day I take my methotrexate made it calm down rather quickly. I am itching to get out of the house. Tomorrow, I have my water aerobics class and I will finally make it to Pilates on Wednesday.
What do I do when I have a bad flare? Well, watch way to much TV and try to read. I am addicted to reruns of Good Times and of course, Law and Order. Holding a book can be difficult when your hands are painful and swollen.
I was able to finish Women and Money and the 2009 Action Plan by Suze Orman. There were sections that I did skip, like credit cards and bank accounts, since I don't have issues with those. But, I did get some good information about retirement accounts. I had transferred my monthly investment to my money market when the market fell into the crapper. I didn't want tot get back into it until I had a good plan. So, I spent yesterday reviewing my notes from Suze, reading some stuff from Money and Forbes magazines, as well as my own investment company. Things are starting to creep back up, albeit slowly.
I really enjoy finance. I think more women would too. Maybe I'll write a post about it....

Today is the Steelers-Ravens game. I am so psyched. I have not washed my Steelers sweatshirt since, well, it may gross some people out to know exactly how long, but it does not smell funky or anything and there is no food stains on it. I only wear it during the playoffs. I am one of those sports-superstitious people. Husband thinks I'm crazy. But, I have always been that way. Even when I ran track, I had an order of operation before starting a race, getting dressed and what music I would listen to!

Husband is almost finished painted the spare bedroom. It took two coats of primer to cover the Pepto-Bismol pink walls that were under the baby pink wallpaper. (No, we did not put up the wallpaper...give me some credit!) Anyway, he is going to paint the walls today...before the game!
I have to get to my de-cluttering and organizing. We got an estimate for how much it will cost to truck all of our stuff to our new place. If any of you have any suggestions on moving companies, drop me an email!
OK, enough update for now. I promise not to be too neglectful of my blog! Damn you, Facebook!

- I am a college professor who is fumbling through the chaos of academia, rheumatoid arthritis, working on my PhD and just being a 40 something woman. I used to be a lawyer, which made me a snarky little person. I have a wonderful Husband and a German Shepherd named Junior. They help keep me sane.

I don't get the whole addictive Facebook thing. I'm on Facebook. I like to use it to keep up with people I don't get to see a lot but I don't know what I would do on it that would take up a lot of time. Do you play games? Chat? What is it? What am I missing?
First, are we "friends" cause I am not sure and I would love to be friends. BTW, I just sent you an email about South-Lite.
I just chat with folks. Some play games, which for me would really take up time I should be doing other stuff!!!
Drop me an email at seekingsolace.blog@gmail.com
I'm so glad you're feeling better!
Facebook is definitely a time suck, at times.
Glad to know your latest RA flare wasn't so bad.
I understand wearing the same thing during the playoffs. I have friends that do the same.
