Silent Night

Silent Night - The Temptations

One of my most cherished Christmas memories is this song. When I was 12, I wanted to buy the '45 for my dad. My dad loved this version and loved the Temps. Plus, he had an incredible singing voice.

I scraped up what little money I had and found the last copy at the local record store. I stayed up and waited for him to come home from work. My dad worked at the local power plant and would not be home until midnight on Christmas Eve. When I heard him enter the house, I turned on the record player and the Temptations began to sing. My dad gave me a big hug and began to sing along.

My dad has be gone for 20 years and my eyes still tear up when I hear this song.

Merry Christmas, Daddy.

What a wonderful memory. I'm sure your dad was incredibly touched at your thoughtfulness.

Thanks for sharing.
