Keep On Truckin'

Posted by Seeking Solace |

I finished grading my second law class yesterday. They did well, although the morning class did slightly better. I had only one failure, one D+ and two C-'s out of 42 students. The rest received a B or better. They were a very bright group of students.

Both classes wrote good research papers; there was only one that was riddled with Wikipedia cites, which is odd, because I don't recall seeing Wikipedia on the annotated bibliography that the students submit during the semester. I would have given them a gentle, yet firm, reminder that I abhor Wikipedia as a source in a research paper. When a paper is riddled with Wikipedia cites, the paper reads like a Wikipedia post.

But, I was happy overall with their papers. Many of them took the cases they were assigned to analyzed and showed how they are applicable today. I mean, these students really thought about the cases. That makes me very happy...and proud.

Today, I dive into my CT class. Talk about a 180 degree difference. And I can't drink alcohol to numb the pain. I sent the Boy to daycare, so I would not scare him if I started throwing things.

OK, here I go. If you don't hear from me, send a reconnaissance team to such for my corpse.

Wiki? You too can edit content at Wiki, simply create a log in ID and you can create or change the content of any entry. I've done it! Suffice it to say, I don't use it, even for a blog.

You would be amazed how many students think that it is an acceptable source for information.

Last year a student simply cut and past the wikipedia article on a theory I taught...word for word. Glad you kids are smarter than mine
