When I was little, I always had trouble falling asleep the night before the first day of school. I would lie awake, thinking about what would happen the next day. I guess you could call it a cross between excitement and fear. A new year. Different teachers. New expectations.
Tomorrow is my first day back to the classroom after my job hiatus. It's been eight months since I have stood in front of a group of college students and tried to look like I knew what I was doing.
Different college. Different students. New expectations.
Am I excited?
Yep.
Nervous?
Yep.
Will I sleep tonight?
Probably not.

About Me
- Seeking Solace
- I am a college professor who is fumbling through the chaos of academia, rheumatoid arthritis, working on my PhD and just being a 40 something woman. I used to be a lawyer, which made me a snarky little person. I have a wonderful Husband and a German Shepherd named Junior. They help keep me sane.
