Even though my birthday was two weeks ago, I got to enjoy Husband's present last night. Husband took me to see Shawn Colvin at a small club in Lake Effect Snow Central. There was about 100 people in the audience and we were sitting about 50 feet away. It was just her doing an acoustic set. Just a fantastic show!!!!

That's the only way to see her: just Shawn and her guitar.
I've seen her twice that way and once as a warmup act for Jackson Browne with a band. It sucked. She only got about a half hour to play, and she wasn't able to establish the intimacy she does in the small, acoustic shows where she tells stories, tries out songs, etc.
She really established a rapport with the audience. Great stories too! It was great that is was such a small audience.
She gives a great concert! I'm glad you got to go.
I love Shawn Colvin but I've never seen her live. You DO have a nice husband!
